‘Learning to Speak’ 27.02.2026 - 25.03.2026
‘Learning to Speak’ is an exhibition that reflects the observations of a serious yet imaginative mind, tracing a path from childhood into adulthood. The works circle around enduring points of fascination—cars, houses, and the uneasy presence of imagined fears in the darkness of night. These subjects, once encountered with the heightened sensitivity of youth, are revisited now with the perspective of time, carrying with them both memory and transformation.
Through painting and sculpture, familiar objects and scenes become vessels for deeper personal language. Living with dyslexia, the act of learning to speak visually has become a way of communicating—of expressing thoughts and emotions that exist beyond conventional words. Everyday imagery becomes a form of veiled narration, where meaning resides not only in what is depicted, but in how it is remembered, reinterpreted, and brought forward.
This body of work presents a lifelong engagement with image-making, exploring a range of styles and techniques that mirror evolving ways of seeing. It is both a return and a continuation—an investigation into formative fascinations that have persisted, receded, and now re-emerged at the forefront of my mind. ‘Learning to Speak’ is ultimately about growth, perception, and the ongoing process of finding a voice through visual form.
