Bryn Corkery

Bryn Corkery is a multimedia artist originally from Dunedin, now based in Titirangi, Auckland. A graduate of the Dunedin School of Art, Bryn completed a photography degree in 2002. His practice is defined by curiosity and evolution: always making art for art’s sake, he explores new media and hybrid processes to create unique combinations of visual expression.

Currently working in ceramics, Bryn’s recent works document the transformation of local buildings in response to urban intensification. He combines photography, lino-cut printing and painting with ceramic processes — layering image and texture onto form, and inviting viewers to consider how the built environment shifts and evolves over time. Ceramics is a suitable medium for this historical documentation due to its durability. It will not fade.

Living and working in Titirangi, surrounded by bush, Bryn is dedicating increasing time and energy to his studio practice, resulting in a rapidly developing body of work.

Bryn’s available work will be uploaded to the website soon.
